Field Trip

Today we went to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

It was a working Field Trip.  The students were on the lookout for science information we are doing research on.

They all seemed to have a really good time.

Valentine's Party

We had a very fun Valentine Party.

There was lots of yummy food, fun games 

and valentines from our friends.

 Thank you Moms and Dads for the party.

 We had a race to see who could move the 

most conversation hearts using chop sticks.

We are 100 Days Smarter

Today we celebrated the 100th Day of School.

The teachers all surprised the students by coming to school dressed like we were 100 years old.  We all picked them up in the cafeteria.  They got a big kick out of it.

Then we had a 100 Day Museum.  We set up our individual museum.  Then we went around to all the other second grade classes and saw their museum.

It was a really fun day.

Today is the 100th Day of School.

Sorting Rocks

Today the students sorted rocks by size using sifters.  

There was sand, pebbles, small and large gravel.  

Making a mess = learning.

Regrouping

We are working on adding and subtracting two digit numbers.

Challenging and really makes us think.

January Student of the Month

 Each month one student out of the 

WHOLE SECOND GRADE 

gets Student of the Month.

January was Tyler Payne from our class.

Congratulations, Tyler!! You are our Super Star.

All about Rocks Week

It was all about rocks this week.

We observed, read about, sorted and 

danced to rock songs.

I turned on the rock song and they just could not be stopped.

We had some crazy dancers.
