Silly Girls

I told Elizabeth and Ashlyn that the book center was a mess and if they had time could they straighten up the books.  I turned around and all the books were all over the floor.  I think they were putting them in alphabetical order.  Just kidding, they just did a really good job straightening them up.

So Prrreettty!

Our New Game

For every book you read, you get to a guess at the guessing jar.
Each day we look at the guesses and narrow it down with "More than and Less than."

Six different people won the conversation hearts but I forgot to take their picture.  Opps!

Brandon won the skittles jar.

This is a high maintenance activity for me but the
students love it and it motivates them to read more.

Trading in Tickets

Last week when we traded in tickets these girls traded in 50 tickets each to sit someplace else other than their desk.  So funny!

Chole and Andrea are sitting at my desk.

Elizabeth is sitting in the rocking chair in the reading center.  She even set up a little table for all  her stuff next to her chair.
She used a clip board all day to do her work.

Funny Boys :)

Today we traded in tickets. Well other students trade in tickets for different things but these two boys, Tyler and Marc, just counted their tickets.  I finished helping everyone trade in their tickets and noticed these two counting their tickets and NOT trading in.  I was so proud of them for counting them by lining them up into groups of ten.  They both have way over 100 tickets and say they are not ready to trade.

How many books have you read?

We have a contest going in our class.
It's kinda like gambling but not.  Just Kidding.

For every extra book you read, you get to take a guess at how many objects are in the jar.
Nathan won the button jar.
I can not blame him for not wanting a jar of buttons so he got a Hershey bar.

Our new jar is filled with conversation hearts.  With each day of guesses we post it as more than and less than.
Come back next week and see who wins.
