Earth Day

Today is Earth Day.

It could not be Earth Day with out reading The Lorax.

This year we also made a seed paper in the shape of the earth.

We had so much fun.

Once the paper dries they can plant them and grow grass.

Multi-Tasking

Tomatoes, Pumpkins, Radish, Spinach and Carrots

As I told you last week we have planted a garden.

Well thanks to a great rain we are actually seeing sprouts.

 

 

 

Digital Learning

We arrived at school today to find a class set of ipads in our class.

In the words of the kids "we do not have to share."

 

It is so exciting how much we accomplished this

week with our ipads.

 

I think the thing they enjoyed the most was

designing their home page.

 

 

Jack in the Beanstalk

This week we read Jack and the Beanstalk.  We developed a deeper understanding of morals, themes, character traits and story elements.

We performed the Readers Theater for Jack and the Beanstalk.

Magic Beans

We used jelly beans for our magic beans.  All second grade classes came to see our presentation of Jack and the Beanstalk and we gave them magic beans.
